The Imperial Arms
-
Emblem of Iran · until 1979.
For centuries a symbol of Iran, the lion with raised sword before the rising sun became the emblem of the Persian state and stood at the heart of the national flag until 1979. Crowned and wreathed in laurel, it is the signature of the House.
-
Banner of the Shahnameh.
In the Shahnameh, the blacksmith Kaveh raised his leather apron on a spear and rallied Iran against the tyrant Zahhak. Kings who followed adorned it with jewels, and the banner became the royal standard of the Sasanian Empire.
-
Imperial Guard · Pahlavi era.
Named after the Immortals who guarded the Achaemenid kings, the Javidan Guard was the elite imperial guard of the Pahlavi era. Our emblem redraws its crowned tablet and guardian lions in gold.
-
Pahlavi dynasty · 1925–1979.
Two lions rampant support a shield of four quarters beneath the Pahlavi crown: the imperial arms of the Pahlavi dynasty, redrawn by the House in gold and jewel tones for the Special Limited Series.
